If only all international conflicts could be resolved this way.

The Republic of Korea Army Band and the Okinawa, Japan-based III Marine Expeditionary Force Band recently held a friendly drum line competition in a parking lot before participating in a parade in South Korea.

After the South Koreans impressed with their drum routine, the Americans stepped up — and forward — to show off some impressive skills of their own.

At one point, the Marines even started playing their rivals’ drums, earning loud cheers from the competition. And the Koreans couldn’t help but dance to the Americans’ beat.

In the end, a diplomatic Marine declared the battle a tie.

"I think the greatest part about this was the Marine who announced it was a tie. Its great because it just shows they are having a good time, sharing a common ground," wrote Reddit user Scissorhands12.

In other words, everybody won — but especially the guy who had the foresight to capture this friendly battle on video,” wrote The Week's Peter Weber.
