Guy’s bad Pokémon tattoo becomes the talk of the Internet

Charmander tattoo

There’s a lesson to be learned here, folks: Never make a drunken decision to tattoo yourself, unless your looking to become the next internet sensation.

Last week, Reddit user yllwsnow2 posted a photo of a friend’s bad tattoo on imgur.

“My friend was drunk and on Xanax when he decided to tattoo a black face Charmander with no experience or artistic ability,” he wrote. “The flame saves it.”

He added, “He woke up the next morning and asked his friend why he didn’t stop him. His friend said he tried multiple times.”

Sure enough, the character looks nothing like the original Pokémon one — except for the flame on its tail.

According to Know Your Meme, the tattoo — dubbed Sh***y Charmander or Shartmander by Reddit users — went viral, earning almost 2.5 million views in its first two days.

Some compared the tattoo design to a remarkably similar Tim Burton fan illustration of the same character.

Fan art and merchandise — including a water bottle, T-shirt, plush toy and wedding ring — followed.

One person made a bad design even worse by recreating it in Paint.

Redditor yllwsnow2 later posted a photo of the tattoo artist in question.

He insisted that the 27-year-old is more than okay with the newfound attention, even if it is for a bad tattoo:

“He’s loving every second of it,” yllwsnow2 wrote. “Won’t shut up about it really but the internet isn’t either.”
