Jeremiah McDonald interviews his 12-year-old self at age 32

Do you ever wish you could go back in time and give some advice to your much-younger self? Or perhaps send a message to yourself in the future imparting valuable advice from the mind of a child?

Filmmaker Jeremiah McDonald did just that, leaving himself a tape that he converses with in this video called "A Conversation With My 12 Year Old Self: 20th Anniversary Edition."

McDonald recorded a VHS tape of himself at age 12, talking to his future self. Twenty years later, McDonald found the tape and answers some questions that are pressing on 12-year-old Jeremiah's mind. Hint: if you're going to ask your future self some questions, don't ask about pets:

McDonald has been asked which child actor he hired to play himself in the video, but as The Daily Mail reports, he insists it's all true.

"I'm not exactly sure what I would say to myself at age 50, though. I'm pretty sure that me in 24 years would hate the current me," McDonald said.

"Maybe that's how we all should strive to live our lives. Strive to make sure future you won't hate current you and vice versa."

The video has also marked the beginning of McDonald's return to drawing. He is now accepting drawing requests at his blog tellmetodrawsomething.tumblr.com. According to his Twitter account, he's already received over 500 requests, and as this video continues to spread online, it looks like McDonald will be keeping busy with illustrations for quite some time.
