Spoiler alert: This 9-year-old girl has come to some conclusions about the tooth fairy that may be shocking for some. If you’d rather not hear it, stop reading now.

When Lexi, 9, lost a tooth, she did as she had always been told to do: She wrote a letter to the tooth fairy, and left it on her pillow.

Her father, Reddit user willsanderson, posted a photo of the letter on Reddit, where it went viral.

It read:

“Dear ‘Tooth Fairy,’ I don’t believe in the tooth fairy any more. I know its you who gets the money and puts it under my pillow, mom and dad. I’m sorry if this is hard for you, but I’m 9 now.”

“P.S. I don’t believe in Santa Claus either,” she added.

Lexi added a second P.S.:

“Daddy, I knew it was you last Easter, hiding my Easter eggs.”

The letter inspired other Redditors to share their experiences with the tooth fairy:

“When I was six or seven, I found out that the tooth fairy was giving all my friends a dollar and I was only getting a measly quarter. I wrote her a letter pointing out the discrepancy. I got back pay on all teeth I had already lost,” wrote Reddit user TorreyL.

"My friends also got more money then me from the tooth fairy. I complained to my parents," wrote doesntgetthepicture. “Their reply: ‘They must take better care of their teeth and do a better job brushing than you do. So their teeth are worth more.’”

"I used to get half dollar coins (American)! I thought they were cool and different," wrote Reddit user Leznupar. “And one time I lost a tooth while we where visiting Canada and the tooth fairy left me a loony [sic]! It blew my mind and I spent a long time thinking there was a Canadian tooth fairy in addition to the American one.”
