Three stray cats took over the main stage ahead of the G20 summit

Three stray cats breached security protocol on Monday, and took to the G20 summit stage just before leaders of the world's major economies were due to make an appearance. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

As the world’s biggest political leaders were about to gather at the G20 summit in Antalya, Turkey, three stray cats nearly stole the show.

The group of felines somehow managed to breach security and casually strolled onto an empty stage just before world leaders were due to make an appearance at the two-day summit, ABC reports.

Journalists attending the summit shared the bizarre video of the three cats wandering around the stage on Twitter.

“Obama and Putin upstage by three cats,” BBC journalist Duncan Stone tweeted with his short video.

In the video, two cats are seen prancing around the stage before one stops briefly to sniff a flower bed just below the world flags. Moments later, a third cat appears and runs after them to catch up.

Since being posted over the weekend, the video has already received its fair share of jokes on Twitter.

“They are Turkey’s K-9 trained cats searching for possible bombs. Only in Turkey like special forces,” one user commented.

Another one wrote: “They smelled the rats!”

Turkey is known for its large number of stray cats, according to ABC. Last year, Turkey’s energy minister blamed a power outage during the country’s elections on a cat.
