Video captures the moment Chicago train derails at O’Hare Airport

New video has been released showing the moment a Chicago commuter train jumped the tracks and drove up an escalator Monday morning at O'Hare International Airport.

The accident injured 32 passengers on the eight-car Blue Line subway train.

National Transportation Safety Board investigator Ted Turpin said the woman driving the train has admitted she "dozed off" before the accident. She had previously fallen asleep on the job in February, when her train missed a station.

Turpin said the driver was cooperating with officials worked an erratic schedule for the Chicago Transit Authority.

"Her hours would vary every day," he said.

The unverified video shows two men chatting before fleeing as the train crashes into the escalator.

While the video appears legitimate, there are questions about where it came from. According to NBC:

The video, which was deleted just hours after being posted Tuesday night and was re-posted Wednesday morning, shows a train coming into the Chicago station and crashing into escalators. Wednesday's video was posted by user SuccessHab on YouTube. While the footage is the same, it is not clear if it was posted by the same user or where the footage came from.

The new release purports to be closed-circuit TV video of the event posted by Media&News. It may be a duplicate of the video that appeared Tuesday night.

The crash caused an estimated $6 million in damages, and the busy station was immediately closed. On Wednesday, crews began cutting apart the damaged train.
