What is cuter than a sleeping baby, you ask? Here’s what: a baby yawning and then passing out while his bearded dad plays Brahms’ Lullaby on the piano.

That’s right, perfect father of three David Motola of Salt Lake City, Utah was taking care of his 5-month old son, Samuel, who wouldn’t sleep thanks to an ear infection.

To lull the baby into a dreamy stupor, Motola strapped him into a baby harness, sat down at his keyboard, and then improvised his own arrangement of the 1868 drowsy-time classic, Brahms’ Lullaby.

As you may have guessed, the tune has its desired effect on little Samuel. He’s wide-eyed as Motola sits down to play, but just a few chords in, Samuel gives one heart-melting baby yawn and then passes out cold. For the rest of the song, little sam sits in the baby carrier with his head hanging to one side, snoozing contentedly.

Motola filmed the whole thing, and then posted it to YouTube.

“I had never tried it before and wasn’t sure,” Motola told TODAY Parents. “I was thrilled that it worked so well, as was my wife. Happy wife, happy life.”

The song was also popular with the online viewers.

YouTuber and mom Liz Otick writes:

“Thank you! This is helping me put my baby to sleep now for nap. ”

While Clarienith Jane Esporas writes:

“Please make a piano sheet for this! Please!! super lovely! ”

Esporas wasn’t the only one requesting the sheet music for the original piece. That music is now available for purchase, as is a longer mp3 version of the song. All proceeds will go towards his children’s education.

“I created the arrangement on the spot, adding my own melodies into the original lullaby,” Motola told TODAY Parents. “I can’t read sheet music and I play by ear, so I just played what was in my heart.”
