Danish dad shocks sons with nearly $3 million lottery win

How would you tell your kids that you’d won the lottery?

This Danish dad told his teenage sons very slowly.

After winning 15M Danish Kroner (or $2.8 million CAD), he set up a hidden camera to capture his sons’ reactions as he handed them handfuls of spending money during dinner one evening, revealing that he’d “won a little bit of money.”

Then he handed them new iPads. Then more cash. And even more cash.

Eventually, he explained that he won more than he first let on.

He then gave them a sheet of paper documenting his winnings — and the boys pretty much lost it.

Last week, we shared the story of a Minnesota waitress who won the lottery and vowed to keep working.

"I don’t think it’s going to change our life that much," Joe and Rhonda Meath told the Star Tribune.

Earlier this year, a YouTube prankster gave a homeless man a “winning” lottery ticket. Out of the sweet gesture grew a friendship — and helped provide a real home for the man.

And last year, when a Hungarian homeless man became a millionaire thanks to the lottery, he used a large portion of his win to establish a foundation for addicts and victims of domestic abuse.
