‘Doodling in Math Class’ makes science and math fun

Vi Hart is making math fun. The "mathemagician's" latest addition to her "Doodling in Math Class" series explains Fibonacci numbers, Lucas numbers, spirals, and the way plants grow, all with easy-to-understand doodles.

"This pattern is not just useful, not just beautiful, but inevitable. This is why science and mathematics are so much fun. You discover things that seem impossible to be true and then get to figure out why it's impossible for them to not be," Hart concludes after explaining the patterns of plant growth and sharing the joy of scientific discovery, adding, "Maybe you should keep doodling in math class."

Learning is fun. And maybe those spirals and flower-petal doodles in your notebook are more scientific than you thought.

"When I grow up, I want to be a plant…. I mean, a number theorist," ScienceDump's Jur wrote after watching the video.
