Gilda’s LaughFest sets world record in animal-nose wearing

Last Friday, 607 chicken-beak-wearing comedy lovers gathered in downtown Grand Rapids, setting a world record for the largest gathering of people wearing animal noses.

The collective beak-donning celebrated the start of the second annual Gilda's LaughFest, a comedy festival named in honour of the late SNL comic Gilda Radner.

Watch the celebration of silliness below.

Organizers say the group wore the beaks for 11 minutes, 39 seconds, surpassing the 10-minute minimum required by Guinness World Records to establish the new record.

The beak-wearers weren't the only world-record makers or breakers that day. Other new records included the world's largest rubber chicken toss and the world's largest serving of fried chicken.

No word on whether there's a record for the largest "chicken dance" party, but there should be.

Gilda would have been proud.
