A video quickly making the rounds on social media is proving that the meaning of Remembrance Day is not lost on the younger generation.

Momin Qureshi, a reporter with 680 News, posted a video to Twitter of an unnamed war veteran getting swarmed by young kids asking for his autograph in Toronto.

The man at the center of the attention seems taken aback by the crowd. In the short video, which has been retweeted more than 100 times, you can hear the kids shout “Sir, sir!” as he smiles and signs autographs.

Canadians gathered across the country on Nov. 11 to mark Remembrance Day to honour veterans and fallen soldiers.

Thousands including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Gov. Gen. David Johnston attended the ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. Trudeau, Johnston and several other ministers laid wreaths at the memorial.
