Lucky man: Brit wins lottery again, ‘not bothered’ by impressive windfall

George Traykov, 45, of Ilford, England, won £1 million ($1,542,870 CAD) in a EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle in September 2011.

Last November, he claimed the £160,873.80 ($248,207.36 CAD) he won in a EuroMillions draw. He missed out on the £12-million jackpot by one number.

Traykov told the BBC that he "wasn't really that bothered" with his impressive second windfall, as the first win allowed him to pursue what he loves: skydiving.

"I’m lucky because I have lived a very happy life. I have a beautiful daughter and a job I love," the former member of the Bulgarian skydiving team said. "Skydiving is still more exciting than winning the lottery."

"The first win enabled me to make a few changes in my life, most importantly sending my daughter Elaine to private school and maintaining her skydiving training," he said.

About his first win, the clean-living property developer added, "I don’t drink and I don’t smoke so I had to waste a whole box of champagne until I got it spraying right."

With his latest winnings, he plans to refurbish his detached three-bedroom home after holidaying in Cancun, Mexico.

"I've always worked very hard and never spent more than I have so money has never been a major problem for me," he said.

He insists he has no plans to move away.

"I didn’t know anyone at that time and I didn’t have much money and the only place I could afford a home was Ilford," he told the Metro. "The place, the area, it is very safe, I have lovely neighbours."

He will, however, continue to play the lottery — and plans to check the few lottery tickets in his home has hasn't looked at yet.
