Nail-biting video shows motorcyclist rescuing kitten at a busy intersection

Daring kittie rescue

This motorcyclist has quickly become an Internet hero after saving an abandoned kitten from a busy intersection.

In a video recently uploaded on YouTube, the female motorcyclist spots a kitten helplessly trying to avoid getting hit by oncoming traffic. The daring rescue was captured on her GoPro camera.

The woman is seen waiting left on a four-lane road when she notices the orange tabby in the middle of the intersection. She then jumps off her bike and quickly picks up the frightened kitten before walking over to the sidewalk and giving the kitten to a nearby bystander.

“Stop, stop, stop!” the motorcyclist is heard yelling as she walks into the intersection. At first she had thought the kitten was a leaf blowing across the road before realizing it was actually a kitten, she says in the video.

It’s unclear from the video how the kitten appeared in the busy intersection but the motorcyclist, who goes under the Reddit username Your_Brain_On_Pizza, wrote that she saw the kitten fall from a red car driving through the intersection.

The red car happened to have a business name printed on the side and the motorcyclist made efforts to contact the driver in case the kitten might be theirs. But the driver has yet to return the call.

For now, the motorcyclist has taken in the kitten and named him Skidmark or Skids for short. She also writes that the four-year-old kitten was recently checked by a vet and, aside from a simple ringworm diagnogig, the kitten is doing well.

“The dork is home, and happy,” she wrote on YouTube.

Since the video was uploaded, many have taken notice of the woman’s heroic action with thousands of comments.

“The definition of HERO! Thank you for saving that frightened and adorable kitten. Couldn’t help but notice the GoPro mount on your mirror, we’d like to send you a care package as our appreciation. Please keep an eye out for your email!” the company writes.
