Penguins surprise passengers when flying first-class to New York

Penguins can't fly, but they can fly first-class.

Last Wednesday night, two VIP passengers waddled their way onto a Delta flight from Atlanta to New York.

"Is anyone here allergic to penguins?" the captain of Delta Flight 486 asked passengers. "No? Alright, we have a surprised for you."

Penguins Pete and Penny were en route to their red-carpet debut at the New York premiere of Frozen Planet, a Discovery Channel documentary series, to be followed by a "polar-themed" after-party hosted by Glenn Close, Dustin Hoffman, and Frozen Planet's narrator, Alec Baldwin.

But their first paparazzi experience began long before they touched down in New York.

Delighted passengers were instructed that they couldn't touch the birds, but could take pictures of the celebrities.

Lucky for the tuxedo-clad pair they were already dressed appropriately for the red carpet, but Unfortunately for fans, Pete and Penny weren't in the mood for autographs.
