Katy Perry’s peppermint bra forced into retirement after wardrobe malfunction

Katy Perry's chest has been deemed a hazard.

The "California Gurls" singer has been forced to part with her iconic peppermint dress (which includes spinning peppermint circles at the chest and on the skirt) after suffering a wardrobe malfunction at a recent stop on her California Dreams tour.See also: Katy Perry and Adam Lambert share thoughts on judging 'American Idol'

"My hair got caught in the wheels of my spinning peppermint bra and began to coil around and around," she told the U.K. Sun. "I'm forced to just go with it so, by the end of the song, it looked quite like I was licking my own t--. What a girl does for her art."

As a result, Perry's tour insurers are concerned she will injure her neck, so the 29-year-old pop star is having a new bra designed. As of yet, there's no word on whether Johnny Wujeck, who originally designed the troublesome dress, will be taking on the role.

In a bit of odd serendipity, Wujeck recently revealed in a new interview with Postmedia that Perry is actually very "bust conscious."

"She doesn't want anything to be too-cleavage or revealing," he said. "So, just as long as she feels secure in that way, we're good."

Perry's assets have gotten her into trouble before. Two years ago, she appeared on "Sesame Street" to perform a duet with Elmo, only to have the show's producers decide not to air the segment after parents complained her top was too revealing.
