Boise State’s blue turf voted America’s best sporting attraction. Here’s what it beat out

When asked about some of the iconic sporting attractions or venues in the United States, many people’s minds may go to historic Wrigley Field or Rucker Park in Harlem, which may be the world’s most famous street basketball court.

And apparently, many people think of Boise State University’s blue turf at Albertsons Stadium.

According to USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice awards for the best attraction for sports fans, it doesn’t get better than the The Blue.

Albertsons Stadium was one of 20 sporting attractions chosen by a USA Today panel that brings fans closer to the game. Online voting then decided the top 10, with Boise State’s blue field coming out on top of some awe-inspiring sporting attractions.

The Broncos’ blue field was first installed in 1986, making Boise State the first school to have a non-traditional color football field. Boise State obtained a federal trademark registration in 2011 for the field.
