A Bradenton craft brewery is closing. But something new will soon be on tap from Miami

Fans of Bradenton’s Magnanimous Brewing have one week left to enjoy a craft beer at the business’ Bradenton taproom before it’s handed off to a new brewery.

Magnanimous Brewing operators announced in a recent social media post that Sunday, June 30 will be their last day in operation at 803 17th Ave. W., Bradenton.

The brewery opened across from LECOM Park in 2022 following Darwin Brewing’s departure.

“Though we have had a great time in Bradenton and made some fond memories, the time has come for a new addition to the Bradenton community,” the Facebook post said.

Replacing Magnanimous will be Miami-based craft beer concocters Sun Lab Brewing.

Sun Lab will take over the brewery and taproom on July 1, according to Magnanimous Brewing. Operating hours have not yet been announced.

Sun Lab Brewing coming to Bradenton

According to Sun Lab’s website, the company was founded by experienced craft brewer Sam Kayata and distributor Keith Fekete in Miami in 2019.

They describe their beers as “taking influence from cocktail culture, culinary trends, and beer inspiration from around the world.”

Local craft beer fans may already be familiar with some of Sun Lab’s brews, which can be found in colorful 16-ounce cans at area liquor stores.

The brewery specializes in sour ales and hazy India pale ales laden with tropical fruit flavors. Its core lineup consists of “Sun Haze” (a hazy IPA), “Sun Craze” (a sour ale with boysenberry, raspberry, blackberry and blueberry) and “Sun Faze,” a blonde ale designed to be easy-drinking.

To date, Sun Lab has operated on a mobile business model, distributing its beer via taprooms, events and retailers. But the long-term plan was always to open a brick-and-mortar brewery, according to the company’s website.

Find Magnanimous beer at Tampa taprooms

It’s not all bad news for fans of Magnanimous Brewing. They’ll just have to drive a little farther to get their hands on the beer-maker’s offerings.

Magnanimous has two locations in Hillsborough County.

The brewer’s original taproom, launched in 2020, remains open in the Tampa Heights neighborhood at 1420 N. Florida Ave. And a newly opened Seminole Heights taproom is now slinging beers at 6809 N. Nebraska Ave.
