Brockville man charged after indecent acts in Belleville, Napanee 1 year ago

A man from Brockville, Ont., is facing charges of committing an indecent act after two incidents in Belleville and Napanee nearly one year ago.

On Feb. 16, 2015, a woman was walking on Dundas Street East in downtown Napanee, Ont., when a man parked in a car on the side of the street began speaking to her through the window, asking for directions.

The man then "performed an indecent act" as the woman approached the car, Ontario Provincial Police said in a media release issued Monday.

Then, on Feb. 21, 2015, a woman was walking on Front Street in Belleville, Ont., when a man parked in a car on the side of the street asked her for directions.

The man performed an indecent act as the woman continued walking away, police said.

Napanee OPP and Belleville police began a joint investigation.

A 31-year-old man from Brockville was arrested Friday, nearly one year later, in eastern Ontario. He was charged with two counts of committing an indecent act, OPP said.

The man is facing a charge for a similar incident in Gananoque, Ont., in 2016, OPP said.
