Nicola, 29, who had Nala for four years before dating Brooklyn, wrote of their late dog in her post that she's had “the hardest month of my life” and is heartbroken at the news as she went into further detail about what happened.

“Nala was perfectly healthy when she went to the groomers yesterday, but came out hyperventilating and couldn’t catch her breath,” she explained. “We rushed her to the vet and she passed hours later.”

Nicola spoke of her intentions in passing on the details of Nala’s death to hopefully prevent a similar situation “from happening to other dogs.”

“She was my beautiful queen and stayed by my side for 9 years through everything,” the actress continued in her post. “Please be careful who you send your dogs to because you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.”
