New Brunswick weather: Sunshine will continue this week

The sunny and warmer than normal days will continue for the rest of the work week, according to CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.

"A ridge of high pressure will be stretching itself out across the Maritimes providing mainly clear nights and mostly sunny days," he said.

Clear nights mean fog and patchy frost is also expected for the next few nights.

"There are signs of a weak trough of low pressure crossing the eastern part of the region Wednesday night that could possibly produce an isolated shower or two in Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island but other than that not much chance of rain until the end of the week," said Coade.

On Friday showers or periods of rain will move into the region and Coade says they will likely extend into Saturday before skies clear again.

"At this time... it looks like wet weather moving in on Friday, out on Saturday, then fair weather for Sunday and Thanksgiving Day Monday."

Afternoon temperatures will be slightly warmer than normal until the rain arrives on Friday, then they will fall to cooler than normal for the weekend.
