Olympic torchbearers are tasked with carrying the Olympic Flame and the Paralympic Flame across France ahead of the Olympic opening ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in TK on July 27, 2024. According to the official Olympics website, this year's games will home 10,000 Olympic torchbearers, with celebrations taking place in over 400 towns and cities across France and its five overseas regions (French Guiana, Reunion Island, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, and Martinique).

Torchbearers have been hard at work with the torch relay since May 8 and will continue carrying out their duty until July 26, 2024, before coming back for a four-day stint (August 25-28) ahead of the Paralympic opening ceremony. BigHit Music confirmed that “Jin along with the other torchbearers are scheduled to go across various historic sites of the host country.”

BTS's Jin officially completed his mandatory military service on June 12, 2024, becoming the group's first member to do so. One day after his discharge, he took place in an event where he hugged 1,000 fans as part of BTS's annual Festa celebrations commemorating the group's 11th anniversary. The star is also said to make an appearance on a variety show for MBC and is reportedly working on new music as well.

"I'm working on recording music and filming variety shows," Jin told fans on Weverse. “I'm trying to focus on my main job while showing my face as much as possible. The results will be out in a few months, so please wait a little longer.”
