Tim Hortons house in Calgary delights neighbours

Tim Hortons took over a Calgary home Tuesday morning, offering free coffee and doughnuts until noon.

The home located at 303 Oakfern Way S.W. was transformed as a publicity stunt meant to draw attention to the chain's hiring campaign.

"We wanted to surprise people and delight them," said spokesman Doug Gunn. "The team members are people who work in restaurants every day. We want you to come in and say 'I see myself working at Tim Hortons.'"

Margaret Harris said it was the best thing that had happened to her neighbourhood in a long time.

"It was free. Heaven forbid, you don't get anything free anymore. So it was lovely," she said.
