Calgary man accused of trafficking underage girls for sexual services

A Calgary man is facing a number of charges, accused of trafficking underage girls for sexual services and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old.

Harrison Brian Penney, 29, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, paying for sexual services, human trafficking, possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

The investigation began seven months ago when police discovered two teens, 15 and 16 year old girls, were being trafficked by the same man, police said Tuesday in a release.

Penney is accused of advertising the sexual services of the two girls online and then setting up encounters with men in exchange for money.

Penney also faces charges for allegedly having sex with the 15-year-old, who is legally unable to consent.

Police say the victims are being supported by the Calgary and Area Child Advocacy Centre, which provides support for children and families impacted by severe and complex abuse.

CPS is encouraging anyone who is a victim of sexual assault to report it to police by calling the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234, or for those in immediate danger, 911.

There is no time limit reporting a sexual assault in Canada.
