Camila Mendes Shares Her Daily Skincare Routine

Plus, the other five steps in her daily routine.

Camila Mendes may rock a permanent cat-eye and flawless glossy lip as Riverdale's Veronica Lodge, but she's wiping it all the way off for a new photoshoot in honor of People's "The Beautiful Issue."

"Wearing no makeup in front of a camera was a vulnerable experience but also incredibly empowering," she wrote on Instagram of her experience posing for the bare-faced portrait.

In the issue, Camila reveals that even though she's required to wear a lot of heavy makeup on set, she feels most like herself when she's wearing an "in between" amount of coverage. She went on to share the six skincare products that keep her feeling confident no matter how much foundation she has on.

Camila starts her AM routine with Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash, which she loves for its "minty smell." Then she dabs on Burt’s Bees Rosewater Toner with a cotton ball (drugstore skincare, FTW), and brightens her under-eyes with [Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm](https://www.sephora.com/product/goat-milk-de-puffing-eye-balm-P407401?SKUID=1809037&om_mmc=ppc-GG_1165716902_53825945940_aud-299050440878:pla-418255026866_1809037_257731950440_9002190_c&country_switch=us&lang=en&gclid=CMDI89jtyNoCFY_KswodPQUKVg&gclsrc=ds. She also loves Glossier as much of the rest of us do — and it seems like she can definitely relate to their "skin first, makeup second mission — and moisturizes with the brand's Priming Moisturizer. Her final step is to dab on some of Kate Somerville's Restorative Oil to keep her skin looking extra dewy.

In addition to her daily routine, Camila tells People that she swears by regular facials to help declog her pores. "When I’m filming a lot I try to get [facials] once every two weeks because I wear so much makeup on set and it’s just getting caked on,” she says. She also splurges for microdermabrasion, saying, “I do it to just kind of exfoliate and then I can see all the makeup that’s been stuck into my pores. So that helps a lot!”
