Candiace Dillard Bassett Leaving Real Housewives of Potomac After 6 Seasons

Candiace Dillard Bassett is stepping away from The Real Housewives of Potomac after six years, People confirmed Monday.

“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” said Dillard Bassett. “With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”

The former Miss United States joined the series in Season 3, and though she won’t be returning for Season 9, she noted that, “This is not a farewell, but a ‘see you later.'” She ended her statement by thanking the show’s longtime fans.

“Your unwavering support has been my guiding light, and I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead — and more importantly, sharing them all with you!”

Dillard Bassett will, however, join Andy Cohen on the RHOP reunion couch, alongside her castmates Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Karen Huger, Dr. Wendy Osefo, Mia Thornton and Nneka Ihim to reflect on “a rollercoaster season filled with the trials and tribulations of friendship.” The three-part reunion kicks off Sunday, March 31 at 8/7c on Bravo; Parts 2 and 3 will follow April 7 and 14.

Elsewhere in the Real Housewives universe, three Real Housewives of Atlanta cast members — Kandi Burruss, Marlo Hampton and Sanya Richards-Ross — all recently announced their departures from the series ahead of Season 16.
