Car smashes into Vaughan nail salon

A woman was injured by flying glass after a car smashed through the front window of a nail salon in Vaughan on Saturday.

Police said employees of the salon, at 140 Woodbridge Ave., called just before 11 a.m. reporting a car had driven through the front window of the store.

The injured woman wasn't hit by the car, but flying glass cut her leg. Police said she was transported to a nearby trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries.

The 60-year-old woman driving the car, a gold-coloured Mercedes sedan, was not injured.

Police said it's not immediately clear how the crash happened, but said there's nothing to indicate alcohol was involved.
