Carmelo Anthony Puts Chelsea Condo on the Market for $12.85 Million

Carmelo Anthony is seeking a new owner for his luxurious condo in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. The NBA star, who previously played for the New York Knicks but is currently based in Portland, Oregon, playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, recently listed the impressive five-bedroom, four-bathroom unit for $12.85 million. Situated in a Cary Tamarkin–designed building overlooking the High Line, the 4,556-square-foot condo spans the entire fifth floor of the edifice, and is accessible via a private elevator. Once inside, the home features 10-foot ceilings, nearly floor-to-ceiling casement windows, custom walnut cabinetry, Calacatta Gold marble countertops in the kitchen, and rift-and-quartered oak floors throughout. Rooms of note include an impressively large combination living- and dining-room space in one corner of the unit and a family room in an opposite corner of the unit; a media room with a wine cellar and wet bar; a laundry room; and a private terrace that overlooks the High Line. The master suite is impressive, featuring a marble bathroom with a double-vanity sink and deep-soaking tub and two walk-in closets (one walk-in closet could even be used as a bedroom).

Anthony originally bought the home for $11 million in 2015 but is now looking for a home in a different part of the same area, according to his brokers. Listing photos of the residence show Anthony’s extensive art collection, which will not be offered with the sale of the home. (The apartment is “an art collector’s dream with ample wall space,” one of the listing agents told Curbed.) Building amenities include a doorman, a fitness center, a bike room, and an approximately 1,300-square-foot common courtyard.
