A Chatham man has been charged with assault with a weapon after he allegedly flicked a lit cannabis joint at his neighbour.

According to Chatham-Kent police, officers responded around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for a dispute between neighbours in Tilbury.

Police say a man confronted a woman over a parking space.

"The confrontation escalated when the man flicked a lit marijuana cigarette at the woman, striking her on the forehead," police said in a media statement.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested, charged with assault with a weapon and released. He will appear in court at a later date.
