Chiefs players on fashion choices for ring ceremony: Zegna, Chanel, Houndstooth
The Chiefs took one last opportunity to celebrate their Super Bowl LVIII championship on Thursday night.
Players, coaches and staff members gathered at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art to receive their championship rings and toast their achievement.
Before entering the museum, they walked the red carpet and showed off their fashionable side. Here is what players said about what they were wearing.
Charles Omenihu
“Extremely one of one. You will never see this again,” Omenihu said. “I did a crop top tweeded suit. Flare pants. Chanel for the waist. Rigged Doc Martens for the boots. And then it was just a simple kind of take ... my chains kind of match what you see on the waist.”
Drue Tranquill
“It’s just something about it here.”

“It’s a dressed-down tuxedo look,” Tranquill said. “So you got the tuxedo lapel but you’ve got a little bit lighter color a little more, having been in California last four years, a little beachy, a little lighter. You can dress it up, dress it down so the guys over at Shepherd’s did a nice job for me.”
Shepherd’s is a men’s clothing store in Kansas City that is co-owned by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker.
Joshua Williams
“You know what man, just a nice little green suit,” Williams said. “Nothing too fancy, too snazzy. Green is my favorite color and I kind of realized I’ve worn every color before as a suit but green. So getting my second ring, might as well do something you know different and wear my favorite color.”
Creed Humphrey
Humphrey said he got his suit from State & Liberty, which has a location on the Plaza.
Nick Bolton
Bolton said he was one of a handful of players who got their suits from Gentlemen’s Playbook.
“We got a little different flavor,” Bolton said. “It’s a nice suit.”
The red-and-gold animal print look was custom made for Bolton.
James Winchester
“A little Houndstooth action,” Winchester said of the Leawood store. “I’ve had suit suit for a couple of years and you know, I wore this same suit last year for it. So going back to back I mean, you’ve got to bring it back. I’m not one that’s gonna go out and buy a brand new suit for this event. I’d like to be able to use it more than once. We will have a lot of amazing suits come down (the red carpet). I’m keeping it classy, a nice black suit.“
Travis Kelce
Kelce was asked the inspiration for his red suit.
“Oh you already know,” Kelce said, “Chiefs Kingdom.”
Here is more on what Kelce was wearing:
