Child porn charges laid after indecent messages sent to Airdrie teen

A central Alberta man is facing criminal charges after indecent messages were sent to a 15-year-old girl in Airdrie.

Police were alerted on April 29 that the teen had received online messages from a man who was living in the community at the time and later moved to Lacombe, RCMP say.

Officers with the Airdrie RCMP, the Southern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the Lacombe Police Service investigated the complaint and carried out search warrants in both Airdrie and Lacombe.

Eliezer Mombay Roca, 56, of Lacombe was arrested and charged on May 8 with 10 offences including making child pornography, possession of child pornography, luring a child, invitation to sexual touching and criminal harassment.

He was released on conditions and will appear in provincial court again in Airdrie on June 28.

Airdrie RCMP say no further information will be released about the investigation.
