City towing, selling vehicles with unpaid parking tickets in Prince Albert, Sask.

If you have unpaid parking tickets in Prince Albert, Sask., it's time to pay up or lose your vehicle.

In December, the City of Prince Albert amended its Traffic Bylaw to give officials the authority to seize and sell vehicles with unpaid parking tickets.

The city has begun to tow the worst offenders when it comes to parking tickets, and will make its way down the list.

Once a ticket is issued, there are several letters sent to the owner reminding him or her to pay the ticket and saying when a court date is.

If the drivers are convicted of the parking infraction in court but still refuse to pay, the vehicle will be impounded.

If the fines are still not paid after 30 days of impound, the vehicle will be sold.
