A city centre lido is reopening on Thursday after it was forced to close for three days due to an issue in its plant room.

The heated pool on Bishop's Road, Peterborough, was due to open on Wednesday, but managers said it took longer than expected to get the pool back up to a normal temperature level.

The operator of the lido, Vivacity, apologised to swimmers for the inconvenience.

The pool recently saw hundreds of people attend for early morning and late night dips to mark the Summer Solstice.

Separately, Vivacity's pool at Premier Fitness in Hampton has also had to close due to a maintenance issue.

The operator said on its website it was waiting for a new part to arrive, with repairs expected to be finished by Thursday afternoon.
