Miramichi man killed in Highway 11 crash near Belledune
A 28-year-old Miramichi man was killed in a head-on collision near Belledune on Tuesday morning.
Bathurst RCMP are investigating the crash that happened just before 8:20 a.m. on Highway 11 near the Jacquet River exit.
The preliminary investigation indicates that road conditions might have contributed to the crash.
The New Brunswick man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, said a media release issued by New Brunswick RCMP.
A man and woman in the other vehicle were injured and taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The highway was blocked for approximately three hours and opened just before 11 a.m.
RCMP New Brunswick said on Twitter that traffic in the northern community was being diverted.
The investigation is continuing.
