Colorado wildfire forces more evacuations

Wind gusts fanned the second largest wildfire in Colorado’s history… as residents in the town of Estes Park, located in Rocky Mountain National Park, were told to evacuate on Saturday.

The winds pushed the blaze - dubbed the East Troublesome Fire - toward homes in the eastern part of the town.

At the same time, a red flag warning was issued by the National Weather Service as winds of 60 miles per hour and low humidity were expected throughout the day.

Near the town of Grand Lake, officials said they found the bodies of a couple - married for almost 70 years - who perished in the fire. The couple chose not to leave their home.

“From the maps that I’ve seen - the fire line went right through our house.”

Don Lesher and his wife Sherry fled Grand Lake this week, and say they are worried about their property.

“We made it. It’s gonna be rough but we’re gonna survive.”

The East Troublesome Fire, which started on Oct. 14, was 14 percent contained as of Saturday.

Firefighters efforts continue further north as well... as Colorado's largest wildfire on record, the Cameron Peak Fire, is still burning and was 60 percent contained as of Saturday morning.
