Comments on tower plan welcomed until July end

Nolalu residents who want to comment on the proposed construction of a new cellular tower on the community's Old School Road must do so by the end of this month.
Tbaytel is proposing to erect the 60-metre structure to improve cell service along the highways 590 and 588 corridors, the utility said in a notice about the project.
The tower, if approved, is to be self-supporting and is to include an equipment shelter at its base, surrounded by chain-link fence covering an area of 225 square metres.
The utility's mobility tower network is separate from its fibre-optic system, which covers "wireline" services such as internet, phone and TV.
A Tbaytel spokeswoman said the utility doesn't disclose the total number of cellular towers it operates.
Comments about the proposed Nolalu tower must be received by July 31. They can be sent by email to jlewis@forbesbrosltd.ca.
