All the confirmed Marvel Phase 6 release dates so far
Marvel has only just kicked off Phase Five of the MCU, but fans are already looking forward to what awaits them in Phase Six.
Back at Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige surprised everybody by announcing two Avengers movies – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars – that will act as the two-part finale to The Multiverse Saga.
Originally we were going to get those movies within six months of each other, but as ever with Marvel, the release schedule has shifted a bit since that announcement. We're also still waiting for the entire Phase Six timeline to be revealed.
That doesn't mean there isn't already plenty to get excited over alongside those Avengers movies as we'll also see the long-awaited MCU debuts for Fantastic Four and Deadpool.
So as we wait for it to start, here's everything you need to know about Phase Six.
Marvel Phase 6 release dates: What is the current Phase 6 timeline?
As mentioned above, there's been some shifting of the release dates and one key addition since Comic-Con, and there's always the potential for more changes.
However, as it stands as of March 2023, here's the Phase 6 timeline:
Autumn 2024 – TBA
November 8, 2024 – Deadpool 3
Autumn 2024 – TBA
Winter 2024 – TBA
February 14, 2025 – Fantastic Four
Spring 2025 – TBA
May 2, 2025 – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty
July 25, 2025 – TBA
Summer 2025 – TBA
November 7, 2025 – TBA
Winter 2025 – TBA
May 1, 2026 – Avengers: Secret Wars
With Phase 6 as the end of the Multiverse Saga, it makes sense that Secret Wars is the final movie on the roster.
The various release windows shown at Comic-Con are likely for the TV shows on offer in Phase 6, while the specific release dates have been saved for a cinema release for an unconfirmed Phase 6 movie.
Marvel Phase 6 movies: Which movies are in Phase 6?
On the movies side, Phase 6 kicks off with Deadpool 3, taking the opening spot from Fantastic Four.
Ryan Reynolds announced that the threequel would bring back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but beyond that we don't know much, including how it'll deal with the fact that he died in Logan.
As for Fantastic Four, we also know precious little save that it won't be an origin story. As it won't be an origin story, could we see the Fantastic Four pop up in another project before their solo movie?
We're still waiting for official cast confirmation, so we have no idea yet if John Krasinski will reprise his role as Reed Richards after he (briefly) appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Matt Shakman is directing.
But even the excitement for Fantastic Four pales in comparison to the epic Avengers double-bill that was announced at Comic-Con – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Next to nothing is known about either movie, other than the title of the former movie confirming that Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) is effectively the Thanos of this particular MCU saga.
It might be multiple Kangs, though, as we've already seen a Variant (He Who Remains) in Loki. We'll be seeing a version of Kang in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania which is said to have a "profound impact" on the MCU.
Secret Wars is the huge comic book crossover event that many fans expected Phase 4 to lay the groundwork for. If it follows the comics, it could well act as a soft reboot for the entire MCU, but we'll have to wait and see.
As for the other movies in Phase 6, it's possible that we'll see the long-awaited X-Men movie which Feige spoke about at Comic-Con 2019.
We know that Spider-Man 4 and Shang-Chi 2 are in development, so they could fill either gap too. There's also the news that Armor Wars is shifting from a TV series to a movie, meaning it now too could take up one of those spots.
Marvel Phase 6 TV shows: Which TV shows are in Phase 6?
Right now, we don't know any of the TV shows that will be arriving on Disney+ during Phase 6, so your guess is as good as ours as to what could be filling those release windows in the timeline.
There are various TV shows in development, including a Wakanda series said to explore the origin story of Okoye (Danai Gurira) and a Nova series.
Either of these could arrive in Phase 6 and we could also see second seasons of any of the shows that have already debuted.
You can catch up on almost of the MCU to date on Disney+.
