Coronation Street to air worrying Paul Foreman scene

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street is set to air some worrying new scenes for Paul Foreman, as he struggles to breathe while he’s home alone.

It was recently announced that Danny Cunningham has been cast as Paul’s father Denny, who will show up in Weatherfield next week after he hears Paul talking about his Motor Neurone Disease on the radio.

In scenes airing on May 3, Paul's husband Billy Mayhew is unhappy about Denny’s return, reminding Paul that Denny used to be violent towards him when he was a child.

However, Paul doesn’t want to hear it and invites Denny over to their flat to watch a film, so Billy reluctantly leaves them to it.

Denny soon leaves Paul alone in the flat when he decides to head out for ice cream, which takes longer than expected after he bumps into daughter Gemma and begs her to let him meet his grandchildren.

Back at the flat, Paul struggles to breathe when he’s overcome by a coughing fit. He attempts to call for an ambulance, but drifts out of consciousness and drops the phone when the operator answers.

When Denny returns to the flat, he’s shocked to find Paul barely conscious.

Will Paul get the help he needs? And how will Billy react when he discovers that Denny left Paul alone?

When Denny shows up on the cobbles next week, he finds Bernie and tells her he's furious that he had to find out their son was dying through the radio.

Although Bernie tries to get rid of Denny by telling him that Paul is already dead, he follows her to the flat, where he’s reunited with Paul and Gemma.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
