Coronation Street has hinted at an affair for Toyah Habeeb and Nick Tilsley.

The soap continued Toyah's powerful storyline in Wednesday's (April 24) episode, as she revisited the trauma of giving birth to her stillborn daughter Rose.

Toyah was worried she'd have to dig up the spot where she buried her daughter because amateur detectives are now convinced it's where missing Lauren Bolton may be buried.

In Wednesday's episode, Nick comforted Toyah when he found her crying. She finally opened up about her past trauma, explaining that's why she's been acting erratically.

Toyah was soon horrified to find out that the police were digging up the park after Simon Barlow suggested a body may have been found.

She decided it was time for her to face her past and admit what she'd done to police, but a chance run-in with Simon on the way to the precinct confirmed the investigators had a false alarm.

While Toyah stopped short of telling police the truth, she did confide in Leanne all about her late daughter Rose. The sisters decided they'd visit Rose's burial site together to pay respects.

Later, Toyah was left alone with Leanne's partner Nick to reflect on the emotional moments from the last few days.

"You did the right thing today," he told her. "You need to know you'll never, ever have to go through this on your own."

Tears welled up in Nick's eyes as he told Toyah: "I'm proud of you!"

Toyah credited Nick for talking her "off the edge" and helping her find the courage to let go of her late daughter.

"I will always be grateful for that," Toyah assured him.

After the two shared a hug, they longingly glanced at one another — hinting that feelings were developing between them.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
