Dan Stevens Remembers Late Angus Cloud as 'All of Our Little Brother' on “Abigail” Set
"I thought he was absolutely terrific in the movie and it was a joy getting to work with him," Stevens said of working with Cloud on 'Abigail'
Dan Stevens has fond memories of working with the late Angus Cloud.
The Downtown Abbey alum, 41, opened up about what it was like filming the horror film Abigail with the late actor, who died at the age of 25 following an accidental overdose in August 2023.
"He was such a sweetheart, man," Stevens said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
"I've never met anyone like him and, you know, he was like all of our little brother on set," he recalled, referring to his fellow castmembers on the film including Melissa Barrera, Kathryn Newton, Alisha Weir, Kevin Durand and Will Catlett.
"It was obviously heartbreaking to lose him," Stevens added. "I really hope that people enjoy his performance. I thought he was absolutely terrific in the movie and it was a joy getting to work with him."
Cloud had wrapped his work on the movie — which marks one of his final appearances on screen — prior to his death, Variety reported. However, it had been delayed due to the Screen Actors Guild strike.
The movie was directed by Scream filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and follows Barrera’s character named Joey as she bands together with a group of criminals (organized by Giancarlo Esposito) to kidnap a wealthy man's daughter for an attempt at a $50 million ransom.
However, it turns out that the task is easier said than done as the little girl, played by Weir, reveals herself to be a vampire and ends up threatening the group and locking them in her home.

"After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight," according to an official synopsis for the movie. "In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl."
Cloud, who rose to prominence playing the character Fezco in HBO's Euphoria, had begun starring in more films before his death. He appeared in Freaky Tales, also starring Pedro Pascal, released earlier this year and Your Lucky Day and The Line, released last year.
Abigail is in theaters April 19.
