Here’s the deal: Target and Walmart plan major sales on Amazon Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day is quickly approaching, but the online retailer won’t be the only one doling out major deals next month.

Walmart and Target are both planning big sales that will coincide with Amazon Prime Day on Oct. 13 and 14.

Target announced Tuesday that it will also be holding this year’s Deal Days event on Oct. 13 and 14, featuring twice as many deals as last year.

The retailer said it will slash prices on hundreds of thousands of products in categories such as electronics, home, essentials, toys and beauty. Deals will also be available for the entirety of the event instead of being rolled out in waves.

Nearly every deal will be available for in-store pickup or Target’s drive up service, the retailer said. It will also be launching early bird specials online before Deal Days kicks off.

Walmart’s Big Save event will start at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 and run through Oct. 15, featuring price cuts on items in electronics, home, toys and beauty, the retailer said.

It’s also offering free two-day shipping for eligible items on orders over $35. Next day delivery will be available for some items as well as in-store pickup, Walmart said.

Amazon launched Prime Day in 2015 as a way to “offer a volume of deals greater than Black Friday” to Prime members and celebrate the online retailer’s 20th birthday. Since, then it’s become a highly-anticipated annual event.

Prime Day 2020 kicks off at 12 a.m. PT Oct. 13 and features majors deal for members across a wide range of categories including electronics, fashion, beauty, kitchen, home and Amazon devices, according to the company.
