DeMar DeRozan's season ends with late ejection in Game 4

DeMar DeRozan’s 2017-18 season comes to an end in just about the worst way he could have imagined.
With the Raptors trailing big late in the third quarter of Game 4, DeRozan — who scored only 13 points with the Raptors staring down playoff elimination — was assessed a flagrant 2 foul on the Cavaliers’ Jordan Clarkson.

DeRozan swung his arm and made contact with Clarkson’s head as the Cavs guard had a clear lane to the rim.

It’s a miserable end to a record-breaking season for both DeRozan and the Toronto Raptors. After enjoying a 59-win regular season, which included the team’s first No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Raps find themselves swept from the playoffs by LeBron James and company for the second straight year.

DeRozan, who was benched for the fourth quarter in Game 3 after scoring a measly eight points, found himself watching his team lose late in the game for for the second consecutive playoff contest. The Raptors may not have had an answer for LeBron James in the playoffs, but Toronto’s star player did little to keep his team competitive in Games 3 and 4.

With a record-breaking season gone to waste, it will be interesting to see what kind of changes the Raptors contemplate in the summer.
