Dinesafe may expand to daycares, hospitals, spas and more

The Toronto Board of Health is considering a new bylaw to extend the city's DineSafe program to daycares, nursing homes, hospitals, public pools and spas.

Currently those places don't have to post the green, yellow or red signs, indicating a pass, conditional pass, or fail. Associate Medical Officer of Health Howard Shapiro told Metro Morning they're hoping to draw on the successes of Dinesafe.

The facilities are already regularily inspected, but Shapiro says this system would mean patrons don't have to check a website to find out the facility's rating.
