Disney Just Shared Instructions to Make Their Theme Park PB&J Rolls, a Fun Twist on a Lunchtime Classic

When it comes to lunchtime with the kids, we’ll admit we’re losing our creativity. After weeks of soup and ham and cheese sandwiches, we can finally kick things up a notch with Disney’s newly-released recipe for PB&J roll.

Wait, what the heck is a Pb&J roll? Well, think of it as a regular peanut butter and jelly sandwich, only in sushi roll form. Fear not: There’s no actual fish involved. Created by the chefs at Lamplight Lounge at the Disney California Adventure park, this twist on a lunchtime staple was recently shared on the Disney Parks Blog. The recipe, which only includes three ingredients, is so easy, the kids can even help in the kitchen. Check out the step-by-step process below.

Ingredients:

8 slices of wheat bread
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter, divided
3/4 cup strawberry or grape jelly

Instructions:

For peanut butter rolls:

Step One: Cut crusts off the bread. Flatten bread with a rolling pin until bread can bind after being rolled.

Step Two: Spread 1 1/2 tablespoons of peanut butter evenly on each slice of flattened bread, leaving a small border on all sides—the peanut butter will spread as you roll.

Step Three: Starting with the long side of bread, gently roll up each bread slice into a spiral. Cut each roll into 4 even pieces.

Step Four: Place eight pieces of rollups onto each plate, seam-side down.

For jelly drizzle:

Step One: Place plastic quart-size freezer bag into a small cup, folding back the first few inches of bag over the top of the cup. Spoon jelly into the bag, gently shaking the bag to move jelly to the bottom of the bag. (Note: If jelly is too thick to drizzle, add a small amount of warm water to jelly in a small bowl and mix to desired consistency before adding to bag).

Step Two: Once filled, lift the bag from the cup and squeeze out excess air from bag and seal bag with a few twists to top of bag. Cut the bottom corner of the bag with scissors.

Step Three: Holding right below the twisted top of the bag with one hand and guiding with free hand, gently squeeze to drizzle jelly over each peanut butter roll with a zigzag motion.
