Donald Trump Claimed He ‘Could Have’ Slept With Princess Diana In 1997 Interview

The down side of running for President is that all the daft things you said and did years ago come back to haunt you.

This is what Donald Trump is currently experiencing, after BuzzFeed unearthed his 1997 claim that he could have “nailed” Princess Diana.

Shortly after Diana’s death in a Paris car crash, shock jock and Trump pal, Howard Stern, asked in a radio interview: "Why do people think it’s egotistical of you to say you could’ve gotten with Lady Di? You could’ve gotten her, right? You could’ve nailed her.“

Trump replied: "I think I could have.”

Trump added that he thought Diana was “supermodel beautiful… she had times where she didn’t look great and she had times where she looked better than anybody in the world.”

In 2000, the pair discussed the topic once more, with Stern again asking Trump whether he would have slept with Diana.

Trump replied: “Without hesitation.”

The wannabe president added that Princess Diana once sent him a “really nice letter”, thanking him for a bouquet of flowers.

But according to Selina Scott, Trump’s fondness for Diana wasn’t reciprocated - in fact, he gave her the creeps.

The broadcaster wrote in the Sunday Times: “He bombarded Diana at Kensington Palace with massive bouquets of flowers, each worth hundreds of pounds.

“Trump clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife. As the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment she became increasingly concerned about what she should do. It had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her.”

Scott recalls Diana asking: “What am I going to do? He gives me the creeps.”

Scott advised the princess to throw the flowers in the bin, and “Diana laughed”. Sorry, Donald.
