Downtown Columbia’s long-standing No Name Deli to add second location. Here’s what to know

The deli has no name, but it will soon have two locations.

Beloved Columbia sandwich institution No Name Deli, which has served downtown eaters for more than 30 years at 2042 Marion St, announced that it will soon add a second location in Forest Acres, taking over a spot in a small strip mall at 4712 A Forest Dr., which sits across the street from the city’s Lowes Foods grocery store.

“We’re excited to announce that we’re bringing your favorite #NoNameDeli favorites to a second location this September,” the restaurant posted to Facebook.

The restaurant changed hands from its original ownership a couple years ago, with Chris Davis and Jon Sears, owners of multiple bars and eateries in Five Points along with Main Street restaurant and rooftop bar hangout Hendrix, taking the reins.

A popular lunch-only spot, No Name promises an experience that is “fast, fresh and no frills” and pushes a menu marked by deli classics (soups, pastrami and corned beef sandwiches) and Southern staples (hot dogs and pimento cheese), with customers queuing up to call out what they want as they move down the counter, bringing a charming big city energy to the proceedings.

The announcement didn’t specify how the experience will compare at the new location, but it did make one important point perfectly clear.

“Have no fear, we will still remain at our original location on the corner of Marion & Elmwood,” the restaurant said.
