Drive-by shooting in Arlington neighborhood injures 5-year-old and 19-year-old victims

A drive-by shooting at an Arlington home early Sunday injured a 5-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man, police said.

Arlington police officers responded to the shooting at a home in the 1000 block of Tennessee Trail around 2:50 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in one of the bedrooms. The victim was immediately taken to a local hospital, where he is expected to survive.

Additionally, officers found a 5-year-old girl who had been shot in the hand. She was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and her injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.

A 20-year-old man inside the home was believed to have been grazed by a bullet. He declined hospital transport and was treated and released at the scene. Two other people inside the house at the time of the shooting were unharmed.

The investigation revealed multiple shell casings outside the residence, along with several bullet holes in the front window and wall. Currently, there is no suspect information available. The occupants of the house told police they do not know who might be responsible for the shooting or the motive behind it.
