The Duchess of Sussex has wowed fans with her choice of gown for her friend’s wedding in Rome. Stepping out for the nuptials of fashion designer Misha Nonoo and oil tycoon, Michael Hess, Meghan shunned typical wedding guest attire by wearing an incredible black sheer gown by Valentino.

Adhering to the floor length-only dress code, the gown was dramatic yet elegant and featured voluminous puffed sleeves, sequins and a plunging V neckline. Meghan accessorised simply with a pair of oversized gold studs and wore her hair in a simple low slung bun. Of course, her husband was looking equally dapper in a sharp black tux and bowtie beside her.

A special occasion for the couple, Misha Nonoo is rumoured to be the woman who originally set them up. A star-studded affair, Meghan and Harry weren’t the only royals to jet to the 17th century Italian villa either. Princess Eugenie, who also opted for a black floor length dress, and Princess Beatrice were both in attendance as well as celebrities such as Karlie Kloss, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

With this guest list, predictably Meghan wasn’t the only one wearing an incredible dress. Ivanka Trump opted for a flowing peach Grecian gown complete with a cape. Katy Perry went bold in an off-the-shoulder bubblegum pink chiffon dress that she styled with cat-eye white sunglasses and Karlie Kloss joined Meghan and Eugenie in a dramatic black gown too.

For those hoping to emulate the Duchess’s look, unfortunately the Meghan-effect is still going strong. After she was photographed in the £8,900 gown, it immediately sold out online. However, much of Valentino's current collection features other black chiffon dresses and skirts that are still available to buy.
