This is the 10th of 13 West Coast studio locals to reach the finish line after about three weeks of local talks.
This week was reserved for caucusing, though Deadline understands that Local 728 continued talks with the AMPTP since they ended last week mid-bargaining. The Motion Picture Editors Guild (Local 700) and the Costume Designers Guild (Local 892) had also been negotiating last week but were able to wrap before week’s end.
Locals 44 and 705 are slated to begin talks Monday, and Local 884 will be the last to start bargaining, likely later in the week.
Following local-specific talks, general negotiations on IATSE’s Basic Agreement are slated to begin on April 29. Those talks will include issues that impact all members including wage increases, pension and health contributions, artificial intelligence, job security and residuals.
