Emmerdale star Laura Norton calls for Kerry and Claudette scenes

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Laura Norton has called for scenes between her character Kerry Wyatt and Claudette Anderson, ahead of her upcoming return to the soap.

The actress is set to reprise her role in the village next week, as Kerry reappears with a police escort after getting herself in trouble yet again.

The character was last seen on the soap in 2022, where she left the Dales to work on a friend's cruise ship.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Norton revealed that she wants her character to share scenes with newcomer Claudette (Flo Wilson), as their contrasting personalities would result in "amazing misfiring" between the pair.

"There's a lady in the show called Claudette — I just feel like there could be just some amazing misfiring between those two," she said.

"It's like when you used to put Kerry and Pearl [Ladderbanks] in a scene. Oh, God, or Kerry and Edna [Birch]. That kind of thing where they're just so disapproving.

"I'm really looking forward to that kind of thing."

She added: "I would like to work with everybody that's new and I love the fact that you can put Kerry in any situation or scenario and she just can make a scene – she can either bring it to life or just make it fall apart.

"And it doesn't matter who they are, if they're from Home Farm, if it's a Dingle or whatever – you can put Kerry with anybody, and it becomes an interesting scene."

The actress went on to reveal that she has kept up with some storylines in the Dales while she's been away, particularly the tragic death of Bob Hope's son Heath.

"I try and keep up with things — like I've seen a little bit of this storyline with Bob, which [Tony Audenshaw] was doing beautifully," she said.

"Seeing a character like that who was on the karaoke and he's just fun Bob isn't he? And then all this heartbreak and heartache, especially with losing a child.

"I saw bits of that and I thought everyone was doing a fantastic job."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
