Liam could find himself left out in the cold when Ella starts to question their relationship.
The pair recently became an item after weeks of flirtation in the new GP surgery.
Liam and Ella defied disapproval from their colleague Manpreet Sharma, who worried about the implications of a workplace romance.

Next week, Liam and Ella head to the scrapyard for an unusual picnic date.
Despite the grotty surroundings, Liam and Ella get stuck into food and wine as they enjoy each other's company.
Things seem to be going well, but Ella starts to feel overwhelmed the next day.
Ella struggles with uneasiness over how quickly her relationship with Liam is progressing. Is it time to hit the 'pause' button – and could this sudden hesitation be connected to Ella's mysterious secret?

Paula Lane, who plays Ella, recently teased: "Ella does have a past that is going to be revealed. She does have responsibilities elsewhere outside the village that mean a great deal to her and I'm so looking forward to exploring this further.
"When something or someone so important to her is put at risk, she will fight so hard to protect that situation.
"This is a part of her we've yet to see and there is currently a lot at stake and a lot to fight for."

Earlier this year, Liam decided to make a go of things with Ella despite feeling more strongly for his other recent love interest, Chas Dingle.
Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas, told Digital Spy last month: "I don't think she sees Ella as a rival, as a threat – as anything really. It's more about Chas' insecurities and feeling: 'Right okay, I should have taken this step if I wanted to take this step with Liam'.
"It's more disappointment and it's her own way forward, really, that is more on Chas' mind."
